Parkersburg

Parkersburg is the seat of the county of Wood, in Virginia-Western, with the the United States, the junction of the rivers Ohio and Little Kanawha. According to the Census of 2000, its population rises with: 33099  inhabitants, which makes the third city of the State of it after Charleston and Huntington. History

Parkersburg, founded at the end of the 18th century, was initially called Newport. In 1810, it adopts its current name in homage to Alexander Parker, a resident of the city which had taken share with the revolutionary war.

Morgan Spurlock was born in Parkersburg in 1970.
