Park of Saint-Etienne it Clapier
History
The realization of the station of the Rabbit burrow located at Saint-Etienne is related to the exploitation of the mining site of the Puits Couriot and Châtelus located has side, but also with the presence of a private railway junction of the Company of the mines of the Loire going down from Béraudière (Dyèvre well and Saint-Dominique) whose vestiges are always visible. The first station was built out of wood in 1857. But the instability of the grounds located at the accesses (often explained, at the time, by the clandestine exploitation of a surface coal seam by the inhabitants of the district and the presence of old careers) very probabalement involved several crumblings of which most spectacular in 1866 is or an engine was inserted in a four depth meters cavity (not attested).
It was decided in 1926 the construction of a new station taking of account the mining basement (with a system of jacks similar to those used with the station of Châteaucreux) made out of reinforced concrete on two levels. But with the successive closing of the various mine shafts the station closed in 1989. This station was left with the abandonment until in 2006 or a restoration was decided. The quays were refitted in railway halt and the station was transformed into a restaurant auvergnat.
