Park of Saint-Denis

The Gare of Saint-Denis is one of the three stations railway which serves the common Saint-Denis, in the department of the Seine-Saint-Denis. It more particularly serves the center town of Saint-Denis, like the Island-Saint-Denis

Aves its 60.000 travellers/day, this station constitutes the 3rd multimode pole of Ile-de-France. Under-dimensioned, it is the subject of studies within the framework of the committee of pole of PDU in order to make it more functional, more comfortable and to enable him to accommodate the flows induced by the prolongation of the tram towards the west and the Tram' there.

The station

The station is Place of the victims of October 17th, 1961, denomination since March 2007 of old the Place of the Station .

This one is located at the west of Saint-Denis, the north of the part of the communal territory lain between the the Seine and the Canal Saint-Denis, with the height of the penultimate lock of this last before the river. A bridge constituting part of the street of the Port and a footbridge pedestrian above it channel make it possible to pass towards the center of Saint-Denis.

Towards the west, the Street of the Port passes under the railways to give to access to the Island-Saint-Denis and the the Seine

The station is served by the trains:

  • of the line D of the RER traversing the D1 branch,
  • and of the network Paris-North of Transilien.

It is also the terminus of the line of tram , located on the bridge of the Channel.

The station accommodates a daily traffic of: 60000 passengers, and is the center of the third multimode pole of transport of the Parisian suburbs, all types of cumulated public transport.

History

The station of Saint-Denis was open in June 1846 by the company of Belgian North Paris-border. The line moved towards Ermont then Saint-Ouen-the Alms before forking towards Creil while following the valley of the Oise.

The more direct line Saint-Denis - Creil via Survilliers open in 1859 after six years of studies then was doubled in 1907.

The line Épinay - Persan - Beaumont via Montsoult was as for it open in 1877, the junction Montsoult - Luzarches in 1880.

Correspondences

The streets of the Port and Ambroise Croizat accommodate in three sites the stops or terminus of various lines of bus, including eight of the RATP.

Prolongations of in Asnières-Gennevilliers

About 2010, line T1 will be prolonged in the west to the City of the Lute, with Asnières-Gennevilliers.

Tram' there

About 2011, the tram line Tram' will also stop at the station of Saint-Denis there, thus giving an easy access to Villetaneuse and Épinay-sur-Seine, then, later on, with the Plaine Saint-Denis.
