Park of Paris-Bercy

The station of Bercy () is a Parisian Gare terminus of the SNCF.

Built during the Eighties, it is specialized in the service “car-trains”, which deals with the vehicles of the travellers (cars, motor bikes, scooters…) and transports them to another station of the car-trains type. In June 2001, following the closing of the terminal of Tolbiac, the station of Bercy recovered the car-trains of the South-western network SNCF. Finally during 2002, the four daily night trains in source or at the beginning of Italy, as from the connections FOR THE THIRD TIME in direction of Morvan were transferred in this gare.
In the facts however, the station of Bercy remains an appendix of the Gare de Lyon (on which it depends administratively within the SNCF).
To note, that it can be used as station of unballasting in the event of large disturbances or work on the Gare of Austerlitz.

Car-trains

This station formerly used in the treatment of the trains car-berths had been designed in the beginning to allow the travellers coming to deposit their car to take the train in the same station, or on arrival to find their vehicle on the spot, which was generally not possible in the other stations, for lack of adapted installations.
From now on, the trains at the beginning of Bercy are made up only of coaches door-cars, and of the shuttles are at the disposal of the travellers having left their vehicle to allow them to go to the stations of Lyon and Austerlitz. They will borrow a traditional train from it or a TGV towards their destination, where conveys to them will await them the next morning.
