Park of Mathieu

the station of Mathieu , was served by the Ligne of Caen to the sea, coming from the Gare of Caen Saint Martin's day and bound for the Gare of Luc-on-Sea then, as from July 1876, of the Gare of Courseulles-on-Sea. This line was exploited by the Railroad company of Caen to the sea.

History

The station was open as from June 1875. In the years 1930, non-stop trains Paris Courseulles were used by the Compagnie of the state railways and thus passed to Mathieu.

Penalized by the obsolescence of its rolling stock and competed with by the development of the car, the line was closed in 1950. Since the years 1960, the station is occupied by an allotment.

Characteristics

The railway platform always exists near Mathieu. However, it was isolated on both sides from the station of Mathieu by the construction of the 2x2 ways Caen - Dover.
