The station of Givet is a railway station of the French commune of Givet, in the department of the the Ardennes.

The station

The station is served by the trains of the network FOR THE THIRD TIME Champagne-Ardenne.

It was formerly a frontier station, served by line 154 of SNCB. This line connecting Dining - Heer to Givet, of 22 km (of which 4 in French territory) was brought into service on February 5th, 1863. This line, unutilised in commercial traffic, constitutes one of the lines exploited like tourist railroad by the Railroad in Vapeur of the Three Valleys

Jean Rolin, in transit in station of Givet in end of the year 1970, extasy on a deadpan mode on the “strange local habit” which reigns there: unloading train of Belgium, one crosses to the step of race a succession of empty corridors of any human presence where panels invite to obtempérer with the instructions of very virtual customs officers, then, left the station at the conclusion of this gymnastics, one again penetrates there in order to take the correspondence towards Charleville, turning over thus exactly to his starting point.
