The station of Châteauneuf-on-Charente is a railway station of the French commune of Châteauneuf-on-Charente, in the department of the Charente.

The station is served by the trains of the network FOR THE THIRD TIME Poitou-Charentes.

History

  • the Compagnie of Charentes obtains the concession of the line. It will be a line with double track and normal spacing. For reasons of economy and to avoid the construction of works of art, the line follows the course of Charente and its curves between Angouleme and Châteauneuf. The section Angouleme-Cognac is inaugurated on October 16th, 1867.
  • the construction of the line of local interest Châteauneuf Barbezieux is decided by the General advice in the 1868 and is inaugurated 9/17/1872.
