Park of Bourges
General information
The Gare of Bourges is the 1 station of the Département of Expensive the and the 5th station of the Région Centers in term of traffic. It accommodates each day between 5.000 and 9.000 travellers. It has lost the essence of its traffic for 15 years.
Electrification
- The electrification of Vierzon-Bourges (31km) began in 1996 and the line was powering in 1997.
- The electrification of Turn-Vierzon (103km) will be finished the 1st quarter 2008.
- The nearest electrification (at the end of 2009) of Bourges-Saincaize (57km) is complementary to that of Turn-Vierzon and will allow in 2011 an electric continuity of almost 550 km between Nantes/Saint-Nazaire and Saint-Germain-of-Ditches. It lies within the general scope of the modernization of the Nantes-Lyon transversal.
