the station of Luc-on-Sea was served by the Ligne of Caen to the sea, coming from the Gare of Caen Saint Martin's day and bound for the Gare of Courseulles-on-Sea. This line was exploited by the Railroad company of Caen to the sea.
History
The station was open as from 1875, at the same time as the line, and was the terminus. In July of the following year it profited from the extension of this line until
Courseulles-on-Sea. As from 1900, the station of Luc was stopped at moreover by the narrow-gauge line of the
Railroads of the Apple-brandy which came from the Gare of Caen Saint-Pierre, via
Ouistreham in direction of Courseulles then of
Bayeux. For this purpose, a third rail equipped the way between Luc and Courseulles. In the years 1930, non-stop trains Paris-Courseulles were used by the Compagnie of the state railways and thus passed to Luc-on-Sea. Penalized by the obsolescence of its rolling stock and competed with by the development of the car, the line was closed in 1950.
On the photograph, one distinguishes on the left part in background, the material with way of 60cm. It is at the exit of the station of Luc in direction of Courseulles, and after the needles of the station, that the way of 60 interpenetrated in the normal way by a 3° rail.
