Gare of the East is a station of the Métro of Paris, located in the 10 {{E}} district of Paris, in France.

It is served by the lines 4, 5 and 7.

As its name indicates it, the station is in connection with the station - railway - Is.

The station

The station bears the name of the Gare of the East under which it is built. Its complete name is besides Gare of the East - Verdun , of the name of the Avenue of Verdun near.

In 2004, it was the fifth most attended station network, with 15,66 million entering direct.

The ways of lines 5 and 7 constitute a whole with three quays and four ways: two side quays and a central quay common to lines 5 (direction Bobigny - Pablo Picasso) and 7 (direction Courneuve - May 8th, 1945) between the second and the third way.

The station of line 4 presents a characteristic: its vault is stopped in its central part, because of presence above the station of the two other lines. Those pass indeed on a “bridge” perpendicular to line 4, which gives a flat “ceiling”.

It was renovated in style “Mound” in 1977, with orange squares very clearly with the tympanums, making following the one of the three prototypes of station of this type of 1974 (New Pont).

Restoration

From September 2006 in June 2007, the station of the East as its subway station underwent a great restoration thanks to the plans “Stations moving” and “Revival of the Subway”, in order to accommodate in a more beautiful and more modern station TGV Is.

On the quays of lines 5 and 7, the orange tiling and blue painting left room to the traditional white tiling of the " Revival métro". The lamps were also replaced, and the last model of seats was installed. Lastly, the typography " Parisine" the typography " replaced; Motte" , thus symbolizing the end of work on the quays. The descriptive news to the standards was installed everywhere in the station.
