Parisian islands
The Parisian islands , i.e. the island S located on the territory of the common of Paris, in France, are of two types. The two principal islands, the island of the City and the island Saint-Louis, are river islands of natural origin located in the the Seine about the middle of the commune. Several old islands were attached to those or the bank. The other islands are artificial and, with share the island with the Swans, located in parks of the capital, mainly in the Bois of Vincennes and the Bois de Boulogne.

Old islands
Other islands existed in Paris with the Middle Ages, before the Seine is not contained by dams. They disappeared today. Bordered of willows and reeds, the smallest islands were usually covered with sand and silt and were flooded in large water. ; On the Seine
- the island Louviers: located between current the quay Henri IV and Morland boulevard in the 4 {{E}} district, upstream of the island Saint-Louis, a size comparable with the latter. It was connected to Right Bank by the Bridge of Grammont which crossed the arm of Grammont of the the Seine. The filling of this one in 1843 made it disappear.
- the island with the Jews and the island in Gourdaine: located at the west of the City, between the garden of the Palate and the quay of Augustins, the first belonged to the Abbaye Saint-Germain-of-Meadows and was, in 1313, the theater of the torment of Jacques de Molay, large-Master of the Ordre of Templiers. Close to it was the island in Gourdaine, on which a mill was. These two islands were conceded by Henri IV with Achille de Harlay, which convenes them in the City and the Dauphine Place of it formed, as well as the spur of the New Pont, where the statue of Henri IV rises.
- the island with the cows and the island Notre-Dame, joined together at the 17th century to form the island Saint-Louis.

It was located between the Seine and an arm now filled corresponding to the current street of the University in the 7 {{E}} district.
- the island with the Monkeys, located at the current site of the Public garden Rene-The-Gall.
