The parish of Webster (English: Webster Parish ) is a Paroisse in Louisiana with the the United States of America. The seat is the town of Minden. It was populated of 41.831 inhabitants in 2000. It has a surface of 1.734 km ² of emerged ground and 17 km ² of water. It is named in the honor of Daniel Webster, statesman American of the 19th century.
The parish is wedged between the Comté of Lafayette (Arkansas) in north, the Comté of Columbia (Arkansas) in the North-East, the Paroisse of Claiborne in the east, the Paroisse of Bienville in south-east and the Paroisse of Bossier in the west.
Demography
At the time of the census of 2000, the 41.831 inhabitants of the parish were divided into 66,51% of “White”, 32,83% of “Blacks” and Afro-Américains, 0,34% of Amerindian and 0,19% of Asiatique S, like 0,22% of not-indexed so above and 0,86% métissées people.The large majority of the inhabitants of the parish (98,17%) speak only English; the parish counted 0,62% which speaks the French or the French cajun at the house, that is to say 243 people who have more than five years speaking at least once per day the “language about Molière”.
