Parish of Feliciana Is
The parish of Feliciana Is , in Louisiana, was created by the scission of the parish of Feliciana which gave rise to also the Paroisse of Western Feliciana in 1824.
The parish has a surface of 1.174 km ² of emerged ground and 6 km ² of water.
It is wedged between the county of Comté of Wilkinson (the Mississippi) in the North-West, the Comté of Amite in the North-East, the Paroisse of Holy-Héléna in the east, the Paroisse of Baton-Rouge East in the south and the Paroisse of Western Feliciana in the west.
Six highways square the parish: the federal highway (U.S. Highway) n° 61 as well as the highways of Louisiana (Louisiana Highway) n° 10,19,63,68 and 69.
Demography
At the time of the census of 2000, the 21.360 inhabitants of the parish were divided into 51,79% of “White”, 47,08% of “Blacks” and Afro-Américains, 0,16% of Amerindian, 0,23% of Asiatique S like 0,54% of not-indexed so above and 0,74% people métissés.The parish counted 2,88% which speak the French or the French cajun at the house, that is to say 574 people speaking at least once per day the “language about Molière”.
