Paris Combo

Paris Combo is a group of music Paris IEN with the various influences.

Course

Paris Combo is a group born in 1995 of the association of five musicians with the already long course. The name of the group comes from the formations of Jazz of the Années 1930 (combo), and of the French capital which is used to them as cultural fish pond.

The group proves reliable first on the Parisian boards. Their first album Paris Combo , leaves the May 20th 1997. Paris Combo connects the concerts, in Germany (Popkom) then in France where they start a round. They are selected thereafter with Talents 98 with the beginning of the year, guests with the Printemps of Bourges, then leave for the Louisiana.
One then sees them with Montreal then with the Francofolies of the La Rochelle.

End 1998, Paris Combo secures a distribution with the the United States while signing with Tinder Records. They carry out then a round in the Uncle Sam at the beginning of 1999.

Their second album, Living room , leave during the same time. The group occurs many times in France before gaining the Australia and the United States and finishing the year with the Olympia in Paris.

Paris Combo signs its third album Attraction , with Polydor (subsidiary of Universal) which leaves in November 2001. The group continues its concerts abroad: Asia, Australia, the United States, then continue in their impetus on a French round.

In 2003 the group connects several dates in North America.
In 2004, a French round precedes the exit by their album Motifs (August).
Year 2005 is announced again like a year in concerts in France (Francofolies in particular), Germany and in the United States.

Musical style

One can classify this group with difficulty. Some put them in the " kind; rétro" , their pieces indeed seeming to take as a starting point the style of the song of the Years 1930 (with resolutely modern words), nevertheless the musical interbreeding is almost a standard at Paris Combo, various influences are clearly made feel in their music: touch jazzy, latino, or gypsy according to the morceaux.
Perhaps this musical interbreeding is due to the horizons and the very varied origins of each member of the group. Beautiful of Berry is berrichon, Mano is not of origin Malagasy, Berber Potzi of origin , Lewis is Australia N and François Jeannin is Paris IEN… and with their places of musical evolution (Paris and the foreigner). This side métissé and despite everything very Parisian on certain songs, the class in the category World music abroad.
