Paris (Texas)

Paris is a city of the North-East of the Texas which counted 25.898 inhabitants with the census of 2000. It is the chief town of the Comté of Lamar. The city was officially created in 1845, at the time where Texas was still an independent republic. It was named in reference to Paris, capital of France.
It gave its name to film of Wim Wenders Paris, Texas .
Paris has a counterpart of the Eiffel Tower 20 height meters, capped by a red hat of cow-boy. One of the slogans of the east city: “ the second largest Paris in the world ” (the second largest Paris of the world).
