Paris-Normandy

Paris-Normandy is a Journal regional newspaper of the French Written press founded with Rouen in 1945, from which the seat was transferred to Déville-the-Rouen (Seine-Maritime) beginning 2006. It is diffused mainly in High-Normandy and a little in the Yvelines.

After having been a long time an independent newspaper, Paris-Normandy became, in the Années 1970, the property of the group the France-Antilles directed by Philippe Harrowing, transformed in October 2006 into Groupe Harrowing Media (GHM).

History

In 1785, the man of letters Parisian and friendly of Diderot, Jean-Baptiste de Milcent, takes again the Newspaper of Rouen . The twice-weekly one is transformed into daily newspaper five years later. With the Release, the Journal of Rouen is interdict of publication for collaboration. It becomes Normandy , then Paris-Normandy in 1947. Its management is entrusted to the Company Norman of republican press, within which 36 members designated by Resistance sit. Pierre-Rene Wolf is named director.

After having been a long time a dynamic and considered newspaper, Paris-Normandy is plunged in a deep decline which even threatens its existence. A plan known as " of modernization sociale" succeeded, in 2005, at the beginning of many employees and the closing of several local draftings, in particular in the the Eure, with Pont-Audemer and the Andelys.

The daily newspaper passes to the Format tabloïd on March 27th, 2007.
