Pargas

Pargas (in Finnish Parainen ) is a city south-west of the Finland. It is located in the province of Western Finland and the area of Finland of South-west, to 25 km in the south of Turku, the provincial capital. It is the only town of metropolitan Finland (except Åland) to being located on an island, in fact one of the principal islands of the Archipel of Turku. She besides is often regarded as the capital of this archipelago, concentrating trade and services. She counts many satellite islands of all sizes.

One finds there the school of the fishing of Finland, and an institute of fishing related to the Department of the Environment.

Parainen is connected by a bridge to Kaarina (and by there in Turku). It is also connected out of vat to Nagu. The other common neighbors, on the other side of the arms of the sea, are Dragsfjärd, Kimito, Rymättylä, Piikkiö, Sauvo and Turku.

The city always was with majority suédophone. However, the evolution of the population tightened the difference between the two linguistic groups and let think that the Finnois could be in a majority within 10 years.

Pargas accommodated the living room Loma- Asuntomessut in 2005 on the peninsula of Airisto.
