Paredes is a municipality (in Portuguese: concelho or município ) of the Portugal, located in the District of Oporto and the Northern area.
Geography
Paredes is bordering:- in north, of Paços de Ferreira,
- in the east, of Lousada and Penafiel,
- in south-west, of Gondomar,
- in the west, of Valongo.
History
The municipality was created in 1836, succeeding, for its greater part, with the old municipality of Aguiar de Sousa, removed on this occasion (the remainder of the parishes having been distributed between the municipalities of Gondomar, Valongo, Lousada and Paços de Ferreira.
