Parasite is a manga of Hitoshi Iwaaki (), the first volume published in France left to the editions Glénat in November 2002. The series counts 10 volumes whose last is appeared in August 2004.

With the Japan it appeared initially like a series in the Afternoon magazine, then in the form of volumes connected published by Kōdansha Ltd. under the name of 寄生獣 ( Kiseijū , parasitic Bêtes ) which volume 1 left in 1990.

James Cameron was inspired some for the design by T1000 in the film Terminator 2: The last Judgment.

History

One night, from the spheres of the size of a ball of tennis fall of unknown number on all Japan, it leaves the aliens there to the appearance of Serpent S. They are programmed to replace human Cerveau. One of those attacks Shinji and enters its body by perforating its right hand, but the young person high-school pupil prevents it from arriving to his brain by tightening his right-hand man with the cord of his ear-phones. The parasite, not being able to leave its arm, amalgamates finally with its right hand. During this time, other parasites succeeded in taking possession of human brains and one already started to nourish itself. At this point in time the parasite and Shinji will start to cohabit, leaving to research the other human ones parasitized to kill them and thus stop the invasion.

Main characters

  • Shin' ichi Izumi (泉新一) : The hero of the series, a young Japanese high-school pupil.
  • Migi : The name of the parasite of the right hand of Shin' ichi. Its name comes from 右手 (migite), the right hand
  • the parasites : In fact creatures Extra-terrestre S replace brain (generally human), they can change their appearance at will. They are animals cannibals in a strict sense because they eat only if they are brought there (If they parasitize a head), and they will always eat the parasitized creature (the human parasites nourissent men, the dogs eat dogs), for them the only life which counts, it is that of their own person.
