Pararaton
The Pararaton or " Deliver rois" is a manuscript of 32 pages Folio (1 126 lines), in language Kawi, or " old man Javanese " and in " means-javanais" , which tells the history of the kings of Singasari and Majapahit of Java Is.
About half of the text tells the life of Ken Arok, the founder of Singasari, before his accession with the throne in 1222. It is estimated that this part concerns the Mythologie rather. A certain number of shorter accounts follows, in an chronological order, events often dated. With the end, these accounts mingle with elements on the royal Généalogie with the family members with Majapahit.
The Pararaton also speaks about Gajah Mada, mahapatih (Prime Minister) of Majapahit. The text says in particular about it:
" Sira Gajah Mada pepatih amungkubumi tan ayun amukita palapa, will sira Gajah Mada: Lamun huwus kalah will nusantara ingsun amukti palapa, lamun kalah Gurun boxing ring, Seram boxing ring, Tanjungpura, Haru boxing ring, Pahang boxing ring, Dompo, Bali boxing ring, Sunda, Palembang, Tumasik, samana ingsun amukti palapa "
" Gajah Mada, the Prime Minister, known as whom it will taste no spice. Gajah Mada known as: As long as I will not have unified the islands of outside, I will not taste any spice ( palapa ). Before I do not conquer Gurun, Seram, Tanjungpura, Haru, Pahang, Dompo, Bali, Sunda, Palembang, Tumasik, I will never taste any épice."
This passage is today called " oath of the palapa". It mentions the name of Nusantara , " islands of the extérieur" (implied compared to Java), that Indonésiens adopted to indicate the archipelago indonésien. It also quotes Toponyme S of which much is still employed: Seram (an island of the Moluques), Pahang (a state of Malaysia), Dompu (with Sumbawa), Bali, Sunda (western of Java), Palembang (in the southern of Sumatra). As for Tumasik or Temasek, it is the old name of Singapore.
Oldest of the Colophon S of the manuscript the date of 1522 of the era Saka carries, that is to say 1600 after J. - C. It last part of the text thus had to be written between 1481 and 1600, perhaps more close to the first date that of the last.
D.C. Berg estimates that the history of the Pararaton is of supernatural nature. However, the majority of the researchers admit a certain historicity yau text, noticing many agreements with Javanese inscriptions and Chinese sources
