Paralpinism
The Paralpinisme is the practice of parachuting in natural environment. The term represents well the conjunction of Parachutisme and Alpinisme. It is a form of Base jump. In English one also speaks about " base-climb".
The French association of paralpinism is affiliated with the French federation of the alpine clubs and of mountain (FFCAM) and its members are ensured for the cliff jumps everywhere in the world.
The word is also sometimes used to mean certain type of flight in parapente: one goes up to foot on décos in mountain. This use tends to disappear with the profit from the expression " flight montagne".
