Parakeet with orange belly
The parakeet with orange belly ( Neophema chrysogaster ; in English: The Orange-bellied Parrot ) is a bird about the Psittaciformes and of the family of the Psittacidés, in process of extinction in Australia.
Description
It is a bird from 22 to 25 cm length with a green back, a yellow belly and an orange task under the belly. The male has in more one blue band on the face.
Food
It nourishes seeds of carex and heather.
Distribution and habitat
It is an migratory bird which spends the summer (from October at April) on the south-western coasts of the Tasmanie where it niche then migrates then towards the coasts of the state of Victoria and the southernmost Australia where it spends the winter.

It niche in the hollow of a tree
Ecology
It is a protected space in the process of disappearance. It is estimated that there remain about it 150 in freedom and 150 in captivity.
