Parabens
The Parabens are a preserving group of chemicals largely used like S in industry Cosmétique and pharmaceutical for more than fifty years to prevent the growth of the Champignon S and the Bactérie S. In 2006, one has been able to find some in more than 80% of the beauty products whose Shampoing S, hydrating creams, Mousse to shave, Gel S cleaning, Lubrifiant S, etc They are also used like Additif S in certain food.
The parabens are Esters of parahydroxybenzoïque Acide. The most current parabens are: Methylparaben , Ethylparaben (E214), Propylparaben (E126) and Butylparaben .
The parabens also exist in a natural state in certain food such as Mûre S, Orge, strawberry, blackcurrant, Carotte or Oignon. One also naturally finds them in the human body (precursory of the Coenzyme Q10) or they quickly is absorbed, metabolized and excreted. Research using of the cellular cultures showed that, like any molecule having oestrogenic properties, they supported the proliferation of cells of cancerous lines hormono-sensitive. However, no scientific study with large scales makes it possible to say that the parabens would be noxious for health.
On this subject, AFSSAPS (French Agency of Public health of the Health products) indicated on September 29th, 2005 that: " the commission of beauty care decided favorably with the continuation of the use, in the conditions envisaged by the current regulation, of 4 of the 5 parabens most usually used (methyl, éthyl, propyl and butyl parabens) .
