Presentation
Disciple of Pedro Romero at the School of bullfighting of Seville, “Paquiro” was a large innovator of the bullfight, in particular in the handling of the hoods . He takes the alternate with Madrid (Spain) the April 18th 1831, with like godfather Juan Jiménez “Morenillo”.From 1840, it enters in competition with one of the largest matadors of this time, “Cúchares”.
It pushed with an important restoration of the bullfight, applying an artistic and creative feeling to him, clearly defining the goal of each speaker. He wrote a treaty Tauromaquia supplemented (“Bullfighting supplements”), in which he defines his design of the toreo. He modified even the bullfighter's costume and imposed the use of a new cap, since called in his honor “will go up”.
He accepted many cornadas which, added to its leaning immoderate for drink, decreased its faculties gradually. He withdraws in 1847, then goes down again in the arena in 1850 in order to remake a fortune largely started by bad deals in the trade of the wine. But the “Paquiro” of this time does not have great any more relationship with that of the first years.
