Belonging to the Group Gascogne, Papeteries of Gascogne is the world leader of the rubbed natural kraft papers.

Origins

Papeterie S of Gascogne is founded in 1925 by Sylviculteur S eager to develop their wood as a manufacturer of the Kraft paper and bags of packing.

Presentation

The annual production on the site of Mimizan is of 150.000 tons paper pulp and more than 150.000 tons of natural kraft paper for packing, conditioning and industrial applications. Paper mills of Gascogne, as well as the Smurfit factory of Invoice-Biganos, support the development and the perenniality of the forest of the Landes of Gascogne. To manufacture its Pulp paper, the site indeed develops the forest productions from the cuts of breaks, as well as the chips and by-products of the industrialists of the piece of furniture, of the frame and the sawing of the area. All the products are biodegradable and which can be recycled. The bags activity of the paper mill, known under the name of Gascogne Sack, exists since 1957. The Gascogne Group ensures the employment of more than 1000 people on the Communauté of communes of Mimizan. He is also owner of the Château of Woolsack.
