Paolo Zacchias
Paolo , or Paulus Zacchias , is a Italian Médecin born in 1584, died in 1659, in the same town of Rome.
Zacchias, doctor of the pope Innocent X, protomedicus of the papal State, studies jurisprudence in medicine as well as food supporting the hypochondriac states.
He plays a central role in the history of medicine and he is regarded as the founder of legal medicine. He summarized his medical and legal experiments in his principal work, the medico-legal Questiones , fundamental for the study of the official medicine of the 17th century and the history of legal medicine.
It is also a man of letters, a poet, a skilful painter, an enlightened expert of the music, extraordinarily gifted in the principal branches of the knowledge.
