Panini (tribe)

See also: Panini

The paninés ( Panini ) are one of both S of Homininé S, the other tribe being the Hominine S ( Hominini ).

The evolutionary Systématique placed in the same family - that of the Pongidé S - the large monkeys which suspend themselves in the trees (Chimpanzé S, bonobo S, Gorille S and orangs-outans), whereas the Homme S are only found in the family of the Hominidé S, that of the large monkeys which work upright.

The modern Systématique (Phylogenetic or Cladistique) gives very different relations of relationship. From now on, the Pongidés are only reduced to the orangs-outans, last survivors of the line of the Grands Asian monkeys , whereas the Hominidé S join together the Chimpanzé S, the bonobo S, the Gorille S and the Homme S, the line of the large African monkeys .

Within the Hominidé S, a majority of studies establishes a narrower relationship between the Chimpanzé S ( Pan troglodytes ), the bonobo S ( Pan paniscus ) and the Homme S ( Homo sapiens ) that with the Gorille S ( Gorilla gorilla ). That resulted in recognizing two subfamilies at the Hominides: gorillinés (only one species) and homininés (among which two tribe S: panines for the chimpanzees and the bonobos, the hominines for the men).
