Panini is a Italian editor . He is known for the edition of image self-adhesive to collect. He is also editor of cartoons in his collections Panini Comics and Marvel France .

The Group

It is in Modena, in Italy of north, that the seat of the Panini group is located like one of the two factories. The 9 subsidiary companies which compose the group are in France, Spain, Portugal, Great Britain, Germany, Austria, Netherlands and Chile and Brésil (where the second factory is). In the countries not - covered by the subsidiary companies, products PANINI are marketed by the means of distributers, managed by the Export service, from Modena. The activity of the Company is structured in 4 divisions: the division of images to be collected, division Comics, division Side Distribuzione and division New Media (Panini Interactive, activates in the sectors of Internet and the ancillary services).

History

In 1961, Giuseppe and Benito Panini, newsagents in Modena, had the idea to sell images of footballers to be collected and stick in an album called " Calciatori" (Italian footballers). It is the first time that images left the packing of a bar of chocolate to become a product with whole share. Success was fast and the 2 other brothers Panini, Umberto and Franco joined soon the family company. During the Seventies, the self-adhesive image, true technological upheaval, made its appearance and the market was internationalized. In 1988, the Panini Company was bought by the Maxwell Group, then, in 1992, by Bain Gallo Cuneo and Agostini. Two years later, it is Marvel Entertainment Group which acquired of Panini.

October 8th, 1999, Panini SpA became again Italian by the acquisition of Fineldo SpA, the company of Vittorio Merloni, and current Management of Panini, which holds a big part of the authorized capital.

Lately, within the framework of its evolution towards the new economy, the Panini Group signed, in Italy, an agreement for the acquisition of a majority quota in the company DigitalSoccer Project, which develops revolutionary software in the field of the sport. In France, Panini bought the company World Foot Center, active in the merchandizing, the distribution and promotion in the sector of football. At the same time, Panini yielded its production activity of adhesive paper, represented by Adespan division, at the company Avery Dennison, one of the world leaders in the sector of adhesive paper.

The Panini Group, whose seat is in Modena (Italy) and who holds subsidiary companies in all the principal countries of Europe in Chile and Brazil, is world leader in the sector of the images, 4th European editor for the young people, Italian leader in the distribution of the cartoons in bookstores and currently develops an important program in the field of the new media. In 2004, the Panini Group carried out a consolidated turnover of 363 million euros, distributed on 110 countries, with 582 paid.

In 2000 Company PANINI FRANCE repurchases monthly magazine for teenagers SUPER with Aventures & Voyages, with an aim of creating a pole presses. Magazines for young people LIKE HIT!, PLANET SCOOP, 16 etc, " ROCK" TRIBE; , " SCHOOL" STAR; are thus developed, as well as the monthly magazine general practitioner of football SUPERFOOT MAG which supplements the titles of club under license " OM MAG" , 100% PSG, " VERT" SHIRT;. These supports join the pole of magazines of STRIP CARTOONS under license MARVEL (SpiderMan, X-Men etc), cd. Comics (Batman, Superman, etc), as well as titles of STRIP CARTOONS for young girls " Girl" horse; , " Fripon" , etc In 2006, PANINI FRANCE resells part of its pole presses, to repurchase into 2007 of the titles youth under license of Cyber Close Publishing before the voluntary liquidation of the latter.
