Panchón
Francisco González Díaz known as “Panchón” , born with Cordoue (Spain) the October 4th 1784, died with Cordoue the March 8th 1843, was a Spanish Matador.
Presentation
“Panchón” is undoubtedly the first Cordovan to acquire a certain reputation in the arena. It begins its career like Banderillero in the Cuadrilla of Jose Romero, then as matador, taking the alternate with Cordoue the May 22nd 1815. It is presented in the form of a matador to Madrid the May 29th 1820 in company of “El Sombrerero”.Because of a wound to Cadiz in 1829, it is obliged to suspend its career and becomes employed State. In 1836, it goes down again in the arena whereas it counts already 52 years and that it is sick and obese.
The August 28th 1842, with Hinojosa del Duque (Spain, Province of Cordoue), it is seriously wounded by the bull “Bragas” of the Ganadería of the Marquis de Guadalest. He dies in Cordoue on March 8th, 1843 of the continuations of his wounds.
