The palpi are oral Pièces at the Invertébrés whose role is primarily sensory. They are carrying specialized structures, called Sensilles, connected to the central nervous system.
In the worms Polychètes, there is a pair of palpi around the mouth.
At the Molluscs, for example at the mould, the mouth is surrounded by palpi which will make it possible to bring food towards the mouth.
The palpi also exist at the Arthropodes, in particular one count them among the oral Pièces of the insect.
