Palm, Inc.

Palm, Inc. is an American company which conceives PDA. Its name comes owing to the fact that these PDA can hold in the palm of the hand ( palm meaning Paume in English).

To make it possible other manufacturers to manufacture machines under Palm OS, Palm decided to be divided into two companies. On a side, Palm (PalmOne between 2003 and 2005) which is given the responsability to build the PDA and, other, PalmSource which develops the Operating system Palm OS. PalmSource was repurchased in 2005 by Access Co..
