Palingenesis

Palingénésie is the term employed by the stoical philosophers to indicate the reconstitution or Apocatastase of the Univers after fire destroyed it
Origin
Although it was not expressed by this term, the idea of a rebirth or regeneration (in gr. palingenesia ) of cosmos was already present at Pythagore, Empédocle, Anaximandre, and Héraclite. It is precisely Héraclite which introduced the concept of “palingenesis” into a vision of the reality subjected to becoming perpetual, thus opening the way with the concept of the “eternal return” of the things and the transmigration of the hearts
