Paleochora ( Greek Παλαιόχωρα in , also spelled Paliochora, Paliohora, Palaiochora and Paleohora) is a small village of fishermen of Crete (Greece) transformed into seaside resort. It is located in Greece, in the south-west of the island, in the department of Chania (Caned). It is the place chief of the municipality of Pelekanos, in the province of Selino. The population is of roughly 1  500 inhabitants.

Considering its distance of the principal transportation routes, the village remains human in spite of the development of the Tourisme.

Paleochora is located on a Presqu'île.

Tourism is the independent source of income of Paleochora. Another important source of income of the village and its area is the market gardening under greenhouses and the production of Olive oil.

Boats start from Paleochora directly for Sougia, Agia Roumeli, Loutro, Skafia and the island of Gavdos.

During the battle of Crete, the village was the theater of engagements opposing the German troops of the 95e battalion of recognition and the troops of the 8th Greek regiment supported by the gendarmerie crétoise.
