Palazzo dei Banchi
The Palazzo dei Banchi is a palate of the town of Bologna located on the Piazza Maggiore at the sides of the Basilique of San Petronio and dating from the 15th century and 16th century.
Its construction started in 1412, but the completion of the frontage and the porticato , by Jacques Barozzio (known as Vignole ), goes back to 1565-1568. It is from there that share the most famous Portique of the city, the Pavaglione , which connect Piazza Maggiore to the Palate of Archiginnasio, the old one and first seat of the Université of Bologna.
