Palawan
Palawan (or Palauan ) is an island of the Filipino , located between the southernmost China Sea and the Mer of Sulu (9°30' NR and 118°30' E). With lengthened form, it covers a surface of 11.785 km ² and culminates to 2085 m with the Mont Mantalingajan.
It constitutes with the surrounding islands (Linapacan, Calamian, Quiniluban, Cuyo, Dumaran, Cagayan, Balabac), the province of Palawan (14,896.3 km ²) which belongs to the area of MIMAROPA (Area IV-B) ¹.

Its capital Puerto Princesa (161 912 hab.) is a port located at the east of the island, on the sea of Sulu.
