Palate of the Culture and Science (Riga)

the Palate of the Culture and Science with Riga is a gift discussed on behalf of Joseph Stalin with the population of Rīga in Latvia. For many Lettoniens at the time of its construction, this project was a symbol of the misuse of the monetary funds; its construction was involuntarily financed by the Latvian appropriations whereas Rīga was still ruins some following the Second world war. It is a gigantic building (103 m) made steel and pieces of Céramique. Its Architecture is very close to those in vogue at the same time in the Soviet Union (in particular the University of State of Moscow). However, it is known as that the architect principal Led Rudnev, added a certain number of purely Latvian details in this project.
