Pak Seung-jin

Pak Seung-jin is a former footballer North-Korean. He was one of the players high-speed motorboats of the North-Korean team which reached the quarterfinals of the Football world cup of 1966 by overriding Italy (source). For the first time an Asian team reached in final stage of a football world cup.

Pak Seung-jin marks a goal at the time of the match of qualification against Chile (1-1), and a goal as of the first minute of the match against Portugal in quarterfinals, during which the North-Koreans, after having carried out up to 3-0, were finally beaten 5-3 (source).

In their documentary on the course of the North-Korean team at the time of the championship, the realizers Nick Bonner and Daniel Gordon showed that the working population of the British city of Middlesbrough was identified with the North-Korean team, and in particular with its two principal players Pak Doo-ik and Pak Seung-jin (source Herald Tribune).
