Painting with wax
The painting with the wax is a technique of painting using the Cire Abeille like binder, it is especially used in Peinture on wood.
The technique of painting to wax is very old since one finds already the use of painting to wax in the Portraits of Fayoum (of the first century at the 5th century in Egypt). It proves its resistance to time consequently, because these paintings on Sarcophage S are always practically intact today.
