Pagan Min
Pagan Min (born on June 21st 1811 with Amarapura, died with Ava on March 14th 1880), was the ninth king of the Dynastie Konbaung (1846-53). Born Maung Biddhu Khyit, it accepted the title of " Prince of Pagan " of his/her father Tharrawaddy Min in August 1842. He became king with dead of Tharrawaddy on November 17th, 1846, with the title of " Its Majesty Pyinsama Thangayana-chock Sri Pawara Vijaya Nanda Jatha Maha Dharma Rajadhiraja Pagan Min Taya-gyi ". Pagan Min gained the fight of succession to the paternal throne while making kill his/her rival brothers. Its principal ministers, Maung Baing ZAT and Maung Bhein, grew rich themselves while killing by prone rich person.
The second war anglo-Burmese burst during its reign. In 1851 the governor of Pégou, Maung Ok, had shown the captains of two trading vessels British of murder, corruption and smuggling. He obliged them to pay several hundred rupees before enabling them to set out again with Calcutta. Having received their complaints, the General governor of the Indies Lord Dalhousie sent an emissary to the king to require repair and the reference of Maung Ok. Pagan agreed to replace Maung Ok, but on January 6th, 1852, when the new governor refused to receive a British delegation, all the British were evacuated and the United Kingdom set up a maritime blockade. In the days which followed, the British ships bombarded Rangoun. February 7th, Pagan wrote in Dalhousie to protest against this aggression. The 13, Dalhousie answered him by an ultimatum, asking for the equivalent of 100.000 £ as compensation for the expenditure of British war, to pay before April 1st. Pagan chooses to be unaware of the ultimatum, and a few days after its expiry, the British troops invaded the Burmese territory. England annexed the province of Pégou in December.
