Padang

Padang is the capital of the province Indonesia of Western Sumatra.

Tourism

The old city, located in edge of the mouth of the Padang river, offers an obsolete charm.

Padang is the entrance point of the visitors who wish to go:

  • in the highlands of the country Minangkabau,

  • on the many beaches, of which Tiku with north and the bay of Painan in the south,
  • the islands Mentawai and their spots of surfing.

Its airport connects the city to the main cities of Sumatra, with Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia, like with Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia and with Singapore.
