Pachtounes

The Pachtounes (Pashto: پښتون; Persan: پختون; Urdu: پشتون, or Urdu Pathan , : پٹھان, Hindi: पठान paṭhān ) is people of several tribe S Nomade S of which the most important fraction resides in Afghanistan and with the Pakistan. Formerly, the whole of this ethnos group travelled, or rather transplanted the North-East of the Iran to the doors of the India and China, and this each year. Nowadays, the borders bring obviously their batch of constraints and their transhumances are done shorter, and some are sédentarisent.

They are stockbreeders and warriors famous and dreaded. They carry out large herds of goats and sheep. The chiefs of tribe overlap large camels of Bactriane who are, just like each sheep, goat's milk cheeses, children, women and charriots, decorated many stone ornaments and metals, fabrics braided with the bright colors and of grelots and small bells. They manufacture themselves their weapons, of the sabers to rifles.

Their caravans were formerly among most important of the area, because at Pachtounes, the members of a tribe were often very numerous and the number of their heads of cattle also. Moreover, many tribes travelled often at the same time and together.

Tribes

The tribes are divided in four great tribal groups: Sarbans, Batans, Ghurghusht and Karlans.
