Pachamama
The Pachamama (Ground-Mother) is the goddess-ground in the religion of the Amerindian S of South America. That constitutes a major goddess of the culture Tiwanaku in Bolivia. Incas realized in its honor of the sacrifices of Vigogne S.
With the arrival of the Spaniards, the imposition of Christianity and the influence of the interbreeding, Pachamama started to regress and be replaced by the image of the Virgin Mary.
Currently the tradition of the offering is maintained and practiced always mainly in the communities Quechua S and Aymara S, through an offering called Challa or Pago . One celebrates this offering the first day of August.
