PON

The term PON , for Passivates Optical Network (optical Réseau passive), indicates a principle of transport of level 1 in Fiberoptic used in the networks of optical service road (FTTx), characterized by an architecture passive point-multipoint fiber (several users divide the same fiber and there is no active equipment between the exchange and the subscribers). There exist various standards of PON, among which GPON and EPON.
