PKV Racing

PKV Racing is an automobile stable of sport which takes part in the North-American Champ Because World Series and sponsored championship several pilots in the anteroom of this series, the Champ Because Atlantic Championship.

History

This team, initially named km No racing, was founded at the beginning of the season 2003 by Craig Pollock (to manage Jacques Villeneuve and former director of the stable of Formule 1 British American Racing) and the Australian businessman Kevin Kalkhoven, starting from ashes of the PacWest team. The stable engaged a car and employed several pilots like Patrick Lemarié, Bryan Herta, max Papis and Mika Salo at the time of its first year with a third place for better result.

In 2004, the ambitions are re-examined significantly with the rise. The stable becomes PKV Racing, in reference to the businessman daN Pettit and to tried out pilot Jimmy Vasser who replace Craig Pollock like joint owners at the side of Kevin Kalkoven. The team then engages two single-seaters for Vasser and the beginner Roberto Gonzalez. However, the results are poor. The following year, PKV replaces Gonzalez by Brazilian the Cristiano da Matta, a former champion of the discipline. Thus, at the time of the race on Portland cement International Raceway, the team obtains her first victory via Da Matta. Despite everything, this last will finish apart from Signal 10 of the championship while Jimmy Vasser will finish the season in the sixth place with a third place like better result.

In 2006, the stable aligns a new duet made up of the Spaniard Oriol Servia and English Katherine Legge, beginner in the discipline. Vasser will control the third single-seater with Long Beach at the time of the sleeve of opening what will be its last appearance before taking its sporting retirement (This one will be stopped only by some tests at the wheel of the news Panoz DP01 in January 2007).
