PKIX

PKIX ( P ublic- K ey I nfrastructure X .509) is an work group of IETF dedicated to the infrastructures with public keys. A great number of Standard S Internet, RFC, was emitted by this group since its creation end 1995. In accordance with the technical tradition of pragmatism of the IETF, the majority of these standards have in fact be of official reformulations of already existing and spread technologies. The standard numerical X.509 of Certificate of ITU, as well as the “standards” of Cryptographie to public key PKCS of RSA Security was integrated in RFC.

The RFC 2459 presents the generic model of PKI used by the PKIX. This architecture is found in the majority of the current establishments of PKI.
