History

In the beginning were the shelves engraved with a Clou or a Burin. The first tool which one could bring closer to the pen is the Arab Calame consisted of a cut reed in which ink runs out along a small slit. With the the Middle Ages, the feather of Oie is preferred to him by the monks copyists.

At the end of the 19th century, the feather of goose is replaced by the metal feather. With its Penholder, the metal feather of which most known in France is the feather Quartermaster-sergeant diffuses in the schools. The pen then continued to evolve/move technically: the problem of the tank of ink is solved partially by Waterman.

After its development in 1938, the massive diffusion of the Stylo-bille as of 1952 strongly democratized the use of the pen. It is authorized in the French schools as of 1965. The large Bic 4 colors as for him is developed in 1970.
