Biography
P. Craig Russell was made known in the comics in 1972, and is famous for its contribution of 11 episodes to Amazing Adventures (Marvel Comics) and the Roman consecutive graph putting in scene Killraven, hero of a future version of the the War of the Worlds of H.G. Wells. This collaboration with the scenario writer Don McGregor drew to him the attention of the scenario writer Roy Thomas, who prepared an adaptation in comics of the stories of Elric of Michael Moorcock. The first with being printed was The Dreaming City , Romance graph which was published in 1982. In 1983, Thomas and Russell, with Michael T. Gilbert, adapted " Elric off Melnibone" in comics of 6 episodes (republished in only one volume in 1986).
The principal passion of Russell is the opera, and it drew adaptations in comics of Parsifal , Pelléas and Mélisande , Salome and the Magic Flute .
He also worked on Sandman scenarized by Neil Gaiman and adapted one of his news in comics, Murder Mysteries ( Mysteries of the Murder , translated by Semic).
