Péribonka
Péribonka is a Canadian Municipalité Quebec, located in the regional Municipalité of county of Maria-Chapdelaine and the administrative area of the Saguenay-Lake-Saint-Jean. The village is localized on the north of the Lac Midsummer's Day with the mouth of the Péribonka (river).
The name of Péribonka (where sand moves), one of the more small villages of the Quebec, is registered in indelible letters on the chart of the world. There since nearly one century, Louis Hémon came to discover Maria Chapdelaine, and its message was diffused in many languages, with the size of the sphere. Since nearly one half-century, Péribonka is the starting point of the international Traversée of the lake Midsummer's Day which sees the largest swimmers of planet come to face vaguenesses of the Lac Midsummer's Day in direction of Roberval. Of 1979 with 1994, courage, the tenacity and the talent of Michel Narrow part, professional hockey player, contributed to maintain the traditions of excellence which make of sound patelin a place of prestige. The municipality is the site of the only inn of youth to the lake St-Jean: the Ïle Inn of the Rest . The Inn located near Co.-Monique, vis-a-vis the Point-Taillon has of 6 country cottages (rooms and dormitories), of a restaurant and a theater who accommodates many artists of the Québécois scene.
