The pénéiculture is the breeding of the imperial shrimp ( Penaeus japonicus ).
It is practiced in basins (1000 m ²), in particular in salted marshes. One quarter is enough to transform the post-larva (10 Mg) into marketable shrimp (15 G).
In France, the climate allows this breeding only May October on the Atlantic facade. It was practiced in 2003 in the island of Noirmoutier, the Breton Marais, the Marais of Olonne, the Ile de Ré, the island of Oléron, the Bassin of Seudre, the North-Medoc, etc
