Pécy
Pécy is a common French, located in the department of Seine-et-Marne and the area Île-de-France.
Its inhabitants is called Péciacquois.
Geography
This commune is located at the east of the capital at a distance of an about sixty kilometers. One reaches it, either by the Highway A 4, left 13 in direction Layered branches, or by Main road 4.- Lieux-dits and variations.
History
The origin of the name is unknown. Pécy was attended by the men as of the paleolithic one, of the vestiges having been found at the time of excavations. Until 1285 the village was located in a " go séparante" in which the inhabitants depended on the powerful Count de Champagne and the King, each one having rights of justice. The kingdom had its western border which passed roughly by Lumigny, Rozoy, Gastins.La Western border of the Champagne county was located at the west of an old Roman way (current RD 209). It will be necessary to await the marriage of Philippe IV with Jeanne de Navarre so that Pécy is attached to the crown. This old Roman way had been traced by Agrippa, son-in-law of the Auguste emperor and connected towns of Lyon to Boulogne-sur-Mer. During years 1980-1990 of the excavations at the day the foundations of a " put; mansio" (lodging of stage) with the locality Limekiln, in edge of the old Roman way. (See Riobe)
